Our Story
How it all started...
Tadhole was established in 2020 with the vision to revolutionize the experience of playing a round of golf. The concept of creating a completely new alternative to the traditional golf cart was identified by co-founders Barend (snr) and Barend (jnr) in 2018. From available products they realized that the gap in the market for a comfortable single seater cart with a high fun factor, be it for single players not wanting to pay for a full cart or groups of odd numbers often sacrificing the idea of playing with a cart not wanting to exclude a loyal golf buddy.
The formidable father-and-son team set out to do extensive research and development with the focus of identifying and analyzing existing products and resulting gaps in the market. The aim was to ensure that the quality, safety, comfort and overall enjoyability of the cart would be of such standard that anyone who had the opportunity of playing with the Tadhole cart would undoubtedly come back for more or want one of their own.
Revolutionize the experience of playing a round of golf
After two years of research and developing a prototype in their garage in their spare time and testing it on various golf courses around Gauteng for more than a year the team is now proud to introduce the work of art to the golfing world. TADHOLE is a lightweight single-seater recreational vehicle based on e-bike technology with the initial aim to serve as a cost effective alternative to existing golf carts and other recreational vehicles. Weighing only 50 kg it is easy to operate and transport and uses significantly less electricity than existing golf carts.
However, the design also offers other options in personal mobility to be exploited in future. The patented design (local and international) offers a cart with superior comfort and stability over existing carts and we believe it is bound to change the face of the fast increasing single seater cart industry. The team is currently building 10 pre-production units to finalize the design, supply chain and manufacturing issues. These carts will soon be available on selected golf courses around Gauteng for testing.
The Tadhole workshop is located in the heart of Gauteng in Centurion and is staffed with a team of highly motivated and competent craftsmen. We have built a network of competent suppliers and where relevant work is outsourced to local companies. In addition to developing a sought after product the team wants to create much needed jobs in the local manufacturing industry.
